First 100 Days of Beats!

We're just sayin'...

100days

I was browsing through the leftovers here on The Beatery when it hit me that we have officially been blogging now for 100 days!  While our posts may not quiiiiite be on par with the responsibilities of the president, I figured it still would be fun to take a look at where we are and what we’ve done.  And when I say “we” I mean you brilliant readers and as well, because without your visits, comments and support I think Cor and I would have been over it by now.  It’s really not that fun talking to yourself.

So let’s break down The Beatery’s first 100 days by the numbers!

208,898 - Total hits received

23,385 - Pages viewed

11,550 - Visits

276 - Hits on our most popular track, “Bullet Proof” by La Roux (she kicked the living $%!& out of Little Boots in our unofficial battle of the Brit Synth Pop divas)

220 - Hits on our most popular set: DJ Cor Live @ Green Drinks!

171 - Comments posted (not including the 1,683 in spam!)

141 - Most unique views of a page: Goodbye, Michael.

139 - Votes cast in our polls (FYI, the average Beatery reader prefers to dance in small clubs, first got into dance music by listening to trance, listens to MP3s in their car, counts Smooth Criminal and Thriller as some of their all time fav MJ songs, likes 90s Hip Hop, uses Firefox, and drops by The Beatery around lunch time or after work.  Sound like you??)

105.58 - Gigs of data downloaded

73 - Posts

13 - Countries from which we have at least 5 visits (in descending order of visits: USA, Bolivia,  The UK, Japan, Canada, Turkey, Austria, Hungry, Germany, Spain, Poland, Ireland and the Philippines)

2 - Tracks we propelled to the top of the Beatport charts (Wolfgang’s 5th posted 6/16, Tetris posted 6/12, this screen capture taken 6/22… This had to be due to our support, right?)

1 - Minimum number of other DJs inspired.  Check out this comment from Brilliant DJ John in Japan:

A big thank you to you sir !! I played both the Bach & Tetris remixes tonight, and they both made the crowd go MENTAL !!!! (^_^)/

OK, so that’s where we’ve been.  But what about where we’re going?  We would like to take this opportunity to get some feedback from you, our brilliant readers, on what you like about The Beatery and what you would like to see more of. Please vote in the polls at the end of the post to help us help you get more of what you want!

And finally, in an effort to get more continuous feedback from you I’m happy to unveil a new feature!  As of now there are five little stars on the bottom of every post here on The Beatery, and we would love it if you would rate all the posts you read/listen to.  It only takes two seconds (literally) and it will give us valuable feedback as to what you guys are feeling.  Comments are still the best way to respond (you have no idea how much Cor and I LOVE getting your comments!  Seriously, it’s not even funny) but we fully understand many of you are busy and can’t really take the time, so we hope you will use the stars.

On to the polls!

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment. Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

Please feel free to leave comments about other improvements, ideas, or general feedback on this here blog.  And again, thank you so much for making your way here and participating in our fledgling community.  Cor and I really wouldn’t do it without you.

Just need to claim the Philippines here - you guys were a lifeline as I drowned in work and jetlag and unfamiliar people. I’ll hit you up a bunch from there next time and try to get you from the lounge in Japan too!
