Cure for the Mondays - Popin’ UP to Wonderland with Pogo
Beat Du Jour, Downtempo
Happy Monday everyone! As I was rolling out of bed not at all ready for the week I felt like I needed an extra special Up-lift this morning, so I’m here with two “Rap Chop”-espue V-mixes* sure to put a smile on your face, pep in your step, and get your week started off rite! Both are from Australian producer “Pogo” aka Nick Bertke who’s been doing some inspired re-mix work over the past year. We’ll get to some of his other tracks in a minute, but let’s start with the videos. The first, “UPular” was passed on to me by Brilliant Reader gen:
* As these video-remixes are getting more and more popular I think we need a better name for them. I’m leaning towards “V-mixes”, like “This V-mix of UP is so great!”. Other suggestions?
“UPular” - Pogo
After a little digging I found this remix of Mary Poppins that Pogo had done earlier under his real name, Nick Bertke.
“Expialidocious” - Nick Bertke
Another of Pogo’s big V-mixes was of “Alice in Wonderland” but that has been obliterated from the Internets, I’m sure due to some fun-hating copyright lawyers, but at leas the audio is still available. Both these remixes come of “Wonderland”, an EP he released in 2009:
And finally here are a few more of my favorite tracks from Pogo. For more information and tons of free (!) downloads from all four of his EPs check out Pogo’s Last FM page.
“Go Out And Love Someone” - Pogo
Any idea where the samples are from on these last two? And while we’re asking questions, what do you think of Pogo’s blissful brand of V-mixes and tracks?
Have a great week!

Great post Jay, this stuff is great! I find the music entrancing, the videos add to that in a mesmerizing way. This guy has the entire sound/genre to himself here.
Found the original Alice video:

What a fun way to start the week!
Thanks for sharing.
Awesome to hear (and see) more of this dude’s stuff. Though Jay, I’m a little surprised you didn’t mention the very first ‘Cure for the Mondays’ ever for the video link.
