I came back last week from a month long trip in Korea & Japan to the nicest San Francisco Bay Area weather you could possibly imagine. It was so beautiful even oblivious, indifferent and inscrutable God passing through would be moved to shed a tear of joy. We couldn’t possible ask for better weather to star off the summer season.
And on that note, here are a few tracks that bottle up this fabulous summer vibe, to be enjoyed over the long hot days and warm nights to come.
Speaking of mashups, I’ve gotta include this Fugees/Kool & The Gang jam by DJ Twister. I’ve been playing this almost every week since last year but haven’t shared it yet with you Beatery Faithful yet!
I don’t know much about “HÔHME” except that he’s from New York, lots of people comment on his tracks on soundcloud, and he blew my mind with this electro-progressive mashup: “Eagle Eyes”.
First and foremost, on behalf of the whole Beatery crew I’d like to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving! There is so much that we all have to be thankful for, and we here at the ‘ol Blog want to give special thanks out to all of you for your amazing support. Somehow this thing has been going for a year and a half now, we’ve grow to four members, have put up 59 DJ sets, 44 exclusive podcasts, have had over 20,000 visits, almost 1,000 comments, and are on the verge of launching monthly parties. We do this ting because we want to share the music we are passionate about with all of you, and without your participation and feedback it would all be a big waste of time. So thank you, thank you, thank you! I hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving with friends, family, food and are ready for some more beats!
It’s back around to me for the podcast this week, and I wanted to change it up a little bit. There was a time where I would exclusively play progressive house and trance and while I still love and actively follow the music I’ve haven’t made the time to get it in a podcast since “The Golden Hour” over a year ago. With winter setting in, the short, cold days, the chill in the air, it seemed like the perfect time to cuddle back up with some cozy progressive medleys and bundle up in a blanket by the fire.
In our new “Friday Five” format it will roll through you like a chill, and maybe help you see the hidden beauty in our darkest season. Enjoy!
Hola amigos y amigas!
Ahora, tengo esos nuevos canciones. Escuchalas y elige tu favorita. Voy a tocar el gañador si ó si pero hay una cosa más… Si tu escuchas alguna de esas canciones cuando estoy tocando me avisas y voy a darte un premio! Estás confundido? Aquí es un ejemplo:
Vos: “Oje Jay! Reconozco esa canción de tu blog!”
Yo: “Ahh si! Aqui está tu premio! Gracias por escuchar.”
Entiendes? Bien! Nos vemos el viernes. Abajo están las canciones. No te olvidas elegir tu favorito!

Whassup my peoples? I’m just letting all my homies down here in Bolivia know that I’ll be playing at a club this Friday. But fear not if you can’t make it to La Paz to see me. If all goes well I’ll record this set and use it for a podcast! Unfortunately as I’m playing from 9:00 - 9:45 pm it might not be the livest set ever, but we’ll see what we can do.
Anyway, I wanted to throw some songs out here for you guys to check out and give me some feedback on. I’ve been grooving on these for a while but haven’t yet had the chance to drop a single one live. Take a minute to listen and vote for your fav, I’ll include the winner in the set fo sho:
Ahhh Bob Sinclar. He’s like the Timbaland of Latin America. Throw in Mano Chao and a dash Shabba Ranks and you got a hot, steamy… dance floor banger! What, where did you think I was going with that?
Our top 5 SYTYCB artist is back with a brand new electro house banger, this one straight from the number one slot on the Beatport sales charts. Note to Deadmau5: I know you make these songs with relative ease, I know you think most of the DJs that play your tracks are hacks, but come on, just a little effort naming would go a long way in making you look not like such a douche. Thanks.
This songs hits. Beatery favorite Lazy Rich just gets sick with Fatboy Slim’s classic. If it wins it might be just me and the bar tender, but I don’t care I’ll get my groove on anyway. Can’t help but shake it to this one.
Hey so did you get the memo about this track being “The Official Trance Energy Anthem” of 2010?? Well in case you’ve been living under a rock I just wanted to let you know. ‘Cause, I don’t want you to be embarrassed or anything next time you go to a party and all your friends are talking about “The Official Trance Energy Anthem” and you kind of nod, half smile and stare at the floor in hopes that no one figures out that you’re the ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD that doesn’t know what the official “The Official Trance Energy Anthem” is! It’s like not knowing about gum. Or the number two. I hear Obama is even gonna make Sadner Van Doorn his “Offical Trance Energy Czar”… kidding aside tho, I do really like the track and we need some trance representation.
